THE IMMEDIATE RECONSTRUCTION OF DEFECT BY ECONOMIC INTRAOPERATIVE EXPANSION ON THE SCALP AN FACE

Abstract
A common goal of plastic and reconstructive surgeons is to provide ideal tissue replacements for defects with minimal scars. The tissue expansion remains one of the few methods that sacrifies both aesthetic and functional requirements for reconstruction. But the need for chronic expansion over many weeks and months, has limited its use to all but elective reconstructive problems that require significant amounts of tissue to be generated.

But the intraoperative expansion technique permits to the surgeon to stretch skin beyond its noninherent limits within minutes and close small skin defects with minimal tension or distortion. Recently we performed the intraoperative expansion with operation gloves, rubber balloon an resterilized tissue expander which was used previously by other patient in five patients with various defects on the scalp and face.

All cases were successfully reconstructed with complication and problems.
